MIT CREON, a one of a kind fest, is the Art and Literary Event of MITCOE. It was first started in the session 2011-2012, under theinitiative of MITCOE’s magazine team, SPANDAN. Since CREON was incepted, it has always tried to bring together alltalents and qualities together to uplift the students. With imagination and creativity as the heart anddedication as the anima, CREON has slowly established itself as a much-awaited and revered event in thecollege within just four years.CREON has, under its belt, a lot of competitions and sessions, which are a treat for every art and literature connoisseur. Be itpainting, sketching, writing, photography, oratory or one of the numerous other competitions, CREON gives a platform to thestudents to unravel and exhibit their talents.In the most recent session 2014-2015, SPANDAN’s MIT CREON took a new step towards glory. For the firsttime ever, CREON was conducted at a National level and it was a grand success.The team led by Pratik Sirsat and Gandhar Vamburkar as the Magazine Secretaries came together to workdiligently to make the event what it was.Presided by Pandit Mandar Gadgil and Aroh Welankar as the Guests of Honor, the event started with theaugust inaugural ceremony where the last year’s magazine “Shreemant” was released and the current year’smagazine’s theme “The Elements” was unveiled.The Literature and Art event had various competitions under its belt.For all the aspiring authors and poets, an article writing competition “Pentastic”, a poem writing competition“Rhyme the Chime” were held.An art exhibition “Art Beat”, inaugurated by Aroh Welankar, showcased the talents from the college. It was atreat for all art lovers. An art competition “Mad In Art” was held for all the artists in the college. Aphotography competition “Virtual Eyes” was held too.“X-Quiz-It”, a quiz competition was held which received an over-whelming response. A debate competition “ToThe Point”, and elocution competition “Just A Minute” were also held for the orators in the students.All the events were a grand slam, and received compliments from the faculties and students alike. The studentended with a valedictory session with the author Sudeep Nagarkar gracing us with his presence.
